Dog lover at 6 months

Each evening's post-dinner pre-bathtime routine:

Who knew this was comfortable?

Each night before we head to bed, we check on TJ to see if:

1. He's sleeping
2. If he's sleeping in a position best suited to get him through the night.

This is how we found him:

...thumb in mouth - check
...on belly and twisted to the side - check
...knees tucked under - check
...guaranteed to wake at 2AM screaming - let's nip that before then

Pet the doggie

Trent is enamored by the dogs. He cracks up when they walk by him. He often reaches out for them and the dogs will either lay down and allow Trent to "pet" them or they will stay juust out of his reach. Even at Trent's young age, we are already teaching him to be gentle and pet nicely as other people's dogs may not be as forgiving as ours with Trent. Video from one of Duke and Trent's first interactions will be uploaded shortly. The pictures were taken today (Friday) . There's been improvement.

Jesse has plans to work on the patio again this weekend, but we'll see how it goes. It's supposed to rain all weekend. We have been stuck under a raincloud the last week. Just last night, we got four inches of rain! Hopefully, we'll see a little sunshine. If they're able to make much progress on it this weekend, I'll post some new pics.

And one more cute pic before bedtime:

Weekend Update

Another Auburn game day - Great game! Auburn beat Mississippi State 49-24. That's the most points Auburn has scored in an SEC matchup since 2005 so it was exciting to see some offense. It was also refreshing after Auburn's 3-2 win over Mississippi State last year.

In other weekend updates, Jesse has posted some more video of Trent on our youtube account.

More beach pics

Here are the two pics that I could not get to post the other day. I'm married to a computer genius that somehow got it work. Thanks babe! I love the pic with Trent in the sand!

Trent's Day at the Beach

This weekend we drove down to Pensacola to see the Andraes and give Trent a chance to go the beach for the first time. The day was overcast and windy, but perfect for keeping the little ones from overheating. The water was an ideal temperature. Cool enough to be refreshing, but warm enough that you could walk right in. Everyone had a great time. I am trying to upload more pictures of Trent, but the blogger site continues to upload the pictures incorrectly. When I pull them in landscape (as they should be), it switches them sideways. If I save it sideways and pull it in, it comes in sideways. I don't get it. I'll update the post once we figure out a way to get the pictures in correctly. No reason for everyone to have to turn there head to look at the pictures. :)

Game Day

Football Season 2009 has officially started!

Auburn had an exciting start to 2009. They beat Lousiana Tech 37-13. The best part of the game was a Chris Todd pass to Terrell Zachery for a 93 yard touchdown pass. It was the longest play in Auburn history. There's a new freshman on the team who played well. His name is Onterio McCalleb and he rushed for 148 yards in his first game. He's the first freshman to rush for over 100 yards in an opener since Bo Jackson played on the plains. The team still has some kinks to work out, but we're looking forward to the season. War Eagle!

Wise Man Built His House Upon A Rock

The man who built our home must have been a savant. Our house is not going anywhere. We have a massive boulder in our crawlspace to prove it. We also live down the street from a quarry. Needless to say, digging in our yard has always been... interesting. We have a garden in giant containers every year for this very reason. So excavating our yard for the patio, while an inexpensive project is rather labor intensive. We've already broken one pick ax. The guys (Jesse, Dale, and Dave) have been making progress though. It's fun to see it coming together!

Body Pump Positions Already

Trent's working on the crawling thing. I was watching him roll and twist and scootch the other day and started chuckling at how close the positions resemble the body pump moves I attempt at the gym a few times a week.

My baby has teeth already. These two teeth first sprouted about a month ago. I adore that smile!

Patio in Progess

Our latest project is our patio. Right now it doesn't exist. We have a screened porch, but thought it would be fun to have a patio to enjoy as well. Jesse got a firepit for his birthday so it will be the focal point. The weather is gorgeous most of the year so we will definitely get a lot of use out of it. I thought I would post some before and after pics. As it is still in progress... these are just the before shots.
